WGWC has been leading a collective movement to strengthen gender mainstreaming in P/CVE since 2017 by adopting and developing the WPS (Women, Peace, and Security) framework in analyzing radicalization developments and formulating strategies to enhance women’s leadership and participation in prevention, reintegration, and victim protection of violent extremism. Entering its sixth year of existence and action, last year, WGWC reflected on and documented its work on women and P/CVE issues in the form of the book “Terrorists, Victims, and Peace Fighters,” which is a significant initiative to capture the stories and agency of women of the WGWC network in supporting victims and working in high-risk environments, including challenges and successes.
